Shortly after 9/11/2001, I was privileged to visit Israel. There was an intifada happening there, and a U.S. State Department warning to stay away from the area. With the events of 9/11 still fresh on their minds, loving friends, family and complete strangers would ask, "Aren't you afraid to go there?" My stock reply became, "You drive a car on major highways each day, don't you? My chances are better there than on the road in a car." Well, I couldn't have been more right. I have never been safer in my life.
Still, I felt like God was telling me to take photos, lots of photos, to share with those who might never have the opportunity to visit Israel themselves. At that time we had no idea what would happen next, or how long people would be able to visit Israel. There was a lot of uncertainty. Before I left, I bought a good quality 35mm camera and shot 16 rolls of film while I was there. It would be so much easier today with my digital SLR, but I used what I had in obedience to the directions I felt God was giving me. Only recently have I had the opportunity to develop a website to increase the possibility of sharing the photos with more people. I never took computer courses, so I'm strictly flying by the seat of my pants here. But that's okay, too; because if it's right, God gets the glory. If it's wrong, it's just because the task was put into the hands of a mere mortal.

And please, whenever possible, do yourself a favor and visit Israel. It's an unforgettable experience that will change your life for the better.
